A Beach for Every Day of the Year in Antigua
My wife loves a beach so whenever we go on holiday, it becomes a prerequisite of most of our searches. When we found a great offer for Antigua in the Caribbean, we were pleased to discover that there were 365 beaches on the island; one for each day of the year! My wife was delighted and we decided to book our stay at the private and utterly luxurious Jumby Bay through ITC.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly team at our resort and a welcome drink. Our Rondavel one bedroom suite was completely undisturbed and the only other people in Jumby Bay were other hotel guests. As my wife put it, our surroundings were “pure paradise”. And the views were truly magical.
Getting around was easy as we could take a boat to the main island of Antigua. Here we were surprised at just how glamorous everything and everyone was; this was undoubtedly the place to be for the rich and famous and we arrived just in time to watch the annual Sailing Week at Falmouth Harbour. The atmosphere was electric and the crowds were extremely stylish. To top it off, the food was just incredible and we found some wonderful restaurants, including Cecilia's on Dutchman Bay and Hemingway’s Caribbean Café in St. Johns.
My wife spent much of her week exploring the endless choice of beaches (her favourites being Carlisle Bay, Grand Pineapple Beach and Coconut Beach) and enjoying the boutique shopping along the shores, whilst I enjoyed the cricket and the amazing sea views.
