My roommates and I traveled to the Southern resort town of Antalya for the national holiday in October that celebrates the republic of Turkiye and everything that Ataturk has done for Turkiye and its people.
The energy of this holiday was incredible. Never in my life have I seen so much energy for a holiday. Turkiye has so much nationalism and pride; it was amazing to see this in action. It was like nothing else. Although Antalya is a small resort town often frequented by European tourists, for this holiday, the city became very much Turkish once more by night. It honestly reminded me of some type of techno rave with all the enthusiasm, lights, and energy. Everyone, old and young, even a toddler, had their flag, and was dancing to the music, which sung about Ataturk and the Republic's accomplishments.
