Along with updates to its overall aesthetic, a renovation of the andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp introduces a new family suite with two adjoining tents. Everything about the camp communicates ease: A private butler brings morning coffee, rustles up parent-friendly cocktails, recharges mobile devices and cameras, and generally takes care of everything. Meals, often served in surprise settings, include mezze, fresh salads, hearty soups, and pizza or barbecue evenings in the boma, an open-air dining area. Located on a tributary of the Grumeti River, the camp is within driving distance of prime river crossings, yet far enough from other camps that it’s uncommon to see more than one or two vehicles. Ready the camera: andBeyond’s well-schooled guides and trackers know exactly where to find giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, large lion prides, and hundred-strong hyena clans.
