On my sailing adventure with Azamara Club Cruises, I headed to Bangkok's Ancient City for an AzAmazing Evening, an excursion for all of Azamara's guests on board, which is also included in the voyage. The evening is designed to highlight the culture of the countries being explored, and in this case, it highlighted the heritage of Thailand. The Ancient City is a park set on 320 acres of land, dedicated to preserving the rich cultural Thai history. There are over 100 reproductions of monuments and famous buildings on the grounds, many of which have royal and religious significance. Though only open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to the general public, to Azamara guests the Ancient City opened its doors for a special evening display of art, food, architecture, Thai performances and dancing.
