With a stunning view of the Bay Bridge, stylish design, and an easygoing vibe, the Americano Bar is an ideal spot for an end-of-the-day drink. The promise of outstanding cocktails lures in a mix of San Franciscans—suited businessmen from the Financial District and casual startup moguls from SOMA mix with travelers from around the world.
Most featured cocktails are made with classic Italian staples like prosecco and Campari. I, however, am a Hendricks drinker, and the Ultima—a fresh, citrusy mix made from Green Chartreuse, Luxardo Maraschino, lemon juice, grapefruit juice and Hendricks gin—is my favorite cocktail in the city.
The Americano's adjoining patio is an animated watering hole year round; when the weather turns chilly, the bar sets up an outdoor tent to keep patrons warm and the lido lounge is always cozy.
