A local favorite past time is to drive up the canyon on the weekend to see the fall leaves. I highly recommend American Fork Canyon for the variety of fall foliage, accessibility by vehicle, and proximity to small town Utah. Fall in Utah is a short lived but much loved time of year so pay attention to the weather. Some years fall leaves have only been available for a week or two, other years have seen fall leaves lasting a few months. Plan your trip for late September as we usually get a "freak" snowstorm right before Halloween, killing the beautiful colors.
