The Grateful Dead Through the Eyes of Banksy

Large arrow left

Street art is always cool, but cooler if its right outside your home. The graffiti artist Bansky has captured the iconic Grateful Dead members right on the pavement outside 710 Ashbury Street, where the Grateful Dead lived, in a quirkly purple shingled house. The caption "Hippy Free Love" underneath one of the singers indicates what this area was (and in some sense, still is) all about. Despite rain, sun and fog, Banksy's work still endures and tells a colorful tale of its own. The Grateful Dead lived in this house for two years.
