Last summer we discovered this unlikely art installation in Boyne City, Michigan. Just off the shores of Young State Park in Lake Charlevoix, numerous dead trees were repositioned upside down in the shallow water with their roots reaching toward the sky. There were over fifty trees and some stood as high as fifteen feet in the air. The trees were extremely heavy so this was definitely the work of multiple people. We saw the installation grow over the course of the summer but we never saw its creation in process. During my last weekend of summer vacation in northern Michigan, I made sure to bring my camera out on the lake so I could create some art of own by capturing this unique scene.
