My husband says I can find a place to shop anywhere. Sure enough, in the fishing village of twenty permanent residents on the tiny island of Ona, Norway, I managed a purchase from one of only two shops - both pottery studios. On a whim, we had boarded an enclosed catamaran for a 75 minute evening cruise from Alesund, Norway to Ona to see the big red lighthouse, picturesque village, and eat fiskesuppe (creamy fish soup). Despite the limited shopping, the journey to idyllic Ona was one of the best mini excursions of our entire Scandinavian trip.
