This one is in the Beat Museum in San Fran, and if I remember correctly, I think this was somebody's (Wolfe's?) traveling case - clock-radio, books and of course the typewriter.
This one looks like it might still work!

Eureka! I finally bought myself an old typer this past Sunday at a flea market in Waterloo, Belgium. It's a Remington and am guessing it's from the 40s or 50s. I have to some how date it. Will stick a pic up here when I get one taken.
