There was a little girl who turned to stone
On a recent visit to New Orleans, Thomas my Taxi Tour Guide insisted that we visit the St. Roch Cemetery to see the statue of little girl who turned to stone.
I thought this was unusual to bury a little girl in front a sundial, a cross of Jesus Christ, and a chapel of healing miracles.
We went inside the St. Roch Chapel to find on the altar a statue of St. Roch and his dog. St. Roch is the saint of dogs and dog lovers. He is also the saint of miracle cures. There is a thank room with a collection of thank you notes, prosthetics, crutches, angels, rosary beads, and prayer hands.
I met a woman at the chapel who read about it in a guide book. She traveled to New Orleans just to visit this famous cemetery. She said she loved to visit cemeteries.
