Every evening in Mallory square, tourists and even locals gather to mark the end of the day. Different vendors set up to sell souvenirs. Acoustic performers, acrobats and magicians all put on small shows in different allotted spaces. If you are watching the sun set from one of the restaurants, the atmosphere is uplifting, but still relaxing. When the sun disappears, everyone claps and toasts the end of the day with those around them. The energy in Mallory Square is representative of both Key West, and Island life. To hug the people you are with and shake the hands of strangers you've just met is a humbling and moving experience.
