Rather than post the typical picture of the Temple of Kukulkan I thought I would post this picture of El Caracol or the "observatory" at Chichen Itza. You will notice from the picture there are few people present...if you go to Chichen Itza try to time your visit very early in the morning before the tour groups from Cancun or Merida arrive ...or very late in the afternoon. This picture was near sunset in December and most visitors had left the site for the day...it was pleasant to walk around without the crowds and it was slightly cooler.
