The Grossmünster

Strolling along the Limmat river we saw this grand Romanesque church. Unfortunately we did not have the time to go inside.

You actually didn't miss much by not going inside. It's rather plain, true to its Protestant ancestry. Zurich and all of Switzerland were meant to be viewed from the outdoors. You did it right!

That day was an 8-hour layover as we were heading to Greece. I was happy to see some of it all, but was shocked at how expensive things were.

No kidding!! The food was absolutely outrageous!! Lunch for two at your run of the mill place was like $80. After two weeks I'd pretty much had enough and said lets just grab something at McDonalds to save a few bucks. This example really brings the point home to people. The #1 Big Mac meal was the equivalent of $17. They even charge extra for the little ketchup packs. They're 50 cents each. Very pretty place though.
