The Bhoganandishwara Temple in the Nandi Hills, is a fascinating day-trip from Bangalore.
This small temple in rural Karnataka, seems a world away from bustling Bangalore. The temple celebrates the Hindu bull (Nandi) who was Lord Shiva's mount, protector and friend. It contains intricate carvings and several Nandi sculptures (as pictured above) and is set in the hills surrounding Bangalore.
The easiest way to visit, is to hire a car and driver for the day, from Bangalore. You can explore the hills and villages, or continue on to the temple of Lepakshi, further from the city.http://cheeseweb.eu/2011/06...
