The Night Market in Luang Prabang, Laos is a shoppers paradise and could be the most serene market in the world. The handmade goods offered here are of impeccable quality and almost everything is created in or around Luang Prabang. Many of the vendors are drawing, painting, stitching, sewing, and carving right before your eyes as you stroll through the market. The market is 7 nights a week but seems to grow a bit bigger on Sundays. The prices are unbelievable and there are bargains galore. Many people say that Laos has the best silk in the world and there is no shortage of silk textiles here. The best part about the market is how laid back it is. No one is pressuring you to buy or even look and sometimes the starting price offered is so fair you might not feel compelled to haggle. In any event the bargaining is done with a big smile. The only downside here is that you can't buy everything!
