Owned by a Japanese company, Mugino, Inc., Beard Papa's was not a place I would have gone to willingly. For starters, cream puffs are not my thing, and secondly, what's a Japanese pastry shop doing selling these? Touted as "the best cream puff" in New York City, I had to see if this was really true. The puff's shell was extremely light and the cream filling was just perfect: hardly a condensed milk-like thickness but a fairly thin consistency to the cream filling makes this a total winner. Since you won't feel full when you leave, you'll be hard pressed to choose just one.
