I chose to spend Christmas in Croatia without thinking of rain and snow. My otherwise drizzly experience was brightened by occasional bursts of distant light beyond the walls to the Sea in Dubrovnik.
This tree and contemplative man made perfect brooding subjects against the backlit stormy Adriatic Sea. This image sums up my winter perception of Croatia.
