It was my last day in Paris, and I was lounging in the sunshine in the Luxembourg Gardens. Children were launching small sailboats across the fountain pond, guiding their course with long sticks if they drifted too close to the edge. One little boy upped the ante when he launched his remote control power boat into the tranquil waters. Running down helpless sailboats and chasing after errant ducks, this little boy wreaked havoc in the afternoon sun. However, as soon as his mother cried "Allons-y!", the vroom of the motor was gone and the sailboats commenced their aimless wanderings through the fountain's wake.
