Seiserl Alm, hiking heaven with a Gourmand twist

Looking for something a little different during our trip to Europe last September headed to the Alto Adige area of northern Italy. My wife and I both love the mountains for hiking and wintersports. We have been to very nice areas Austria an Switzerland but we were truly stunned by the beauty and seclusion of this area. Also, if you're up for a splurge, the accomodations and restauransts have significantly been upgraded since my earlier experiences in the region. The Alpina Dolomites was undoubtedly a luxury ,but after three weeks on and off trains and plains, to arrive at the hotel and see the vista and experience the amenities made everything worth wile. We went off every day and hiked all over the area. Lots to do for beginners and for the experts there is the dizzing Via Ferrata, Back at work and buzzy everyday now, I found myself daydreaming about the alipine meadow know both as Alpi Di Siusi or Seiserlam, for the German speaking community. The historian will also be spoiled by the remnants of the trenches of WW1, seemingly cut at the very peak of the Falzerago pass. Don't pass up the opportunity to see this superb area.
