Safranbolu was the highlight of my second trip to turkey. The Old town preserves its Ottoman era houses and architecture. Everyone in the town is friendly and most of the locals will invite you into their homes tea if you talk to them. There is a hamam at the historical centre that you can relax in at a fraction of a price as compared to the bigger cities.
