Susa! Susa! Susa! This is what our group would quietly chant as we trekked up to the jungle edge, to meet up with the trackers who were with the Susa Family, a group of 30+ gorillas in Rwanda. To start the day, you meet your Ranger at the Volcanoes National Park Center and head out from there (there are several gorilla families, the one you visit might depend on how long of a trek you're itching for.)
To be in the presence of the Susa Family in their natural habitat was humbling, giving us a deeper appreciation for the raw power and beauty of these mammals.
