We knew we wanted to check out the De Pijp neighborhood for the the bars, cafes and markets. We choose a Sunday because we didn't know that was the only day without the market. It was raining out so we decided to double up on the bar scene -- we couldn't have picked a better neighborhood or better day. The rain gave us no reason to look for other alternatives. We truly felt the laid back environment of this melting pot neighborhood as five good friends became great friends laughing and joking each other for several hours and plenty of rounds of Jupiler and Bieterballen to count. It was the highlight of an amazing trip and is a driving force behind the same group getting together in Europe over the same weekend every year. Some may question why we would spend an entire afternoon in a bar overseas. We hope they do -- it's a great way to weed out those we don't want to join us on the next trip.
