Lots of people go to visit Tioman to go scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, or just to relax... Travel guides suggest areas on the west and north end of the island, we chose to go totally south to stay at this gorgeous resort. Boy, was that a good decision! We were picked up from the airport and boated down to Bagus Place Retreat. This place was like a dream. One long jetty to snorkel from to visit with the turtles, cuddle fish, and white tipped reef sharks. A nice trail to hike through the small colorful garden village next door on your way to the local waterfall. Monkeys that woke us up each morning by tap dancing on our roof. Giant monitor lizards that quietly crunched through the jungle behind our bungalow. Scuba diving trips in crystal clear waters with schools of giant glimmering silver batfish.
