Warm water, cold military style showers, no laundry, sounds horrible right? That's what I would have thought before I was able to experience it for myself. It was the most beautiful, authentic place I have ever seen. The culture is so welcoming and kind, even though they don't have a lot to be happy about. They are just simply grateful for life! The beaches are to die for, and the food brings everything to life. By going to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip, I was not only able to SEE all the tourist sights, but I LIVED everyday life as the locals do. That's what made this trip all worth it in the end, and it would be one I would defiantly take again.
