My absolute favorite part about Peru was the people. From our very first cab ride from the airport where the driver gave us an excited and informative tour and offered to take our ridiculously oversized suitcases up the many stairs in the high altitude to our hotel, to the locals on the street who would not only point us in the right destination, but walk us to the door of the restaurant or museum we were looking for, to the children - always smiling, never crying, always helping their families and the wandering tourists. It was a genuine purity and a kindness I had never experienced in a culture as a whole. There wasn't one person we encountered on our trip that we didn't immediately fall in love with. For this reason alone, I will return to Peru. I encourage any travelers going there to interact with as many locals as possible. It will only enhance your experience and create more memories.
