These two residents of San Pedro de Atacama, a tiny town of 5000 in the high Chilean Atacama Desert, hung out at the same restaurant that I'd get my cheap but delicious sandwiches from. I loved the way the father constantly played around with his daughter, showing a lot of affection. And I thought they were quite interesting. We met, spoke, laughed several times, and I finally asked if I could take their picture. They beamed, said yes, and immediately got into this pose. Fantastic. One of the the highlights of any trip is making new friends.
