I have lived in Oklahoma City since 1985 and I have spent a lot of time in the Paseo Arts District. I've seen it go from boarded up and urban blight to the vibrant community it is today.

It's like a little Spanish village with stucco buildings -- each one a different color. I love the clay tile roofs. Best of all, it's full of art galleries and artists as well as Craig's Curious Emporium, a wonderful little shop filled with jewelry, incense, etc.

I also love The Paseo because it represents the commitment of fabulous community leaders Joy and John Belt. They've nurtured the district, and Joy runs the JRB Art Gallery at The Elms. It's wonderful!

The Paseo has a First Friday art walk that I almost never miss. It also has restaurants, a bar and an annual festival in May. There's the Fairy Ball and the Magic Lantern Festival, too. It is a must-see for anyone visiting Oklahoma City.
