I have been driving past this structure for almost 10 years, and had no idea of its significance. One day, I finally stopped, with two cameras in tow, and took almost 100 photos. This is but one, and it hardly does the place justice, but if nothing else it will hopefully inspire others to plan a visit. There are currently only seven Baha'i temples in the world, and this is the only one in North America, and it's located in Wilmette, IL. The intricacy and painstaking detail put into the construction of the temple is staggering. I'm not even going to try and belabor the point with words, I'm simply going to implore you to go. I'm not a religious person, but I'll be darned if this place doesn't make you think twice.
