Notions of Paris
While wandering the back streets of the fabric district in Monmartre, I came across a delightful notions shops full of every kind of button imaginable. The neighborhood around the base of the Sacré Coeur has many more interesting vintage, sewing and boutique shops than the souvenir laden ones at the top.

There are lots of fabric and notions stores near the bottom of the Sacre Coeur hill in Monmartre near the Anvers and Pigalle metro stations. I believe St Pierre has quite a few shops and you can wander west for more options. http://sewingkeepsmesane.blogspot.com/2008/05/day-seven-fabric-shopping-in-montmartre.html
La Droguerie, 9-11 rue du Jour (near the Forum des Halles) is a lot of fun - buttons, ribbons, edgings, knitting yarns, beads... makes even a non-crafter like me want to buy and imagine all the possibilities.
