This was the first face to welcome us to Szentendre, roughly 30 minutes outside of Budapest. We had just arrived, when I felt we were being watched...that's when I looked up and noticed this adorable older man keeping an eye on the goings-on of his town.
After this brief round of peek-a-boo, we continued on our way, exploring the many shops and admiring the charming streets. We were able to see a bust of Hungary's national poet, purchase genuine Hungarian paprika, and admire the beautiful Blagovestenska Church. After walking and shopping, we worked up an appetite and ate true Hungarian cuisine, like goulash and fruit soup at The Golden Dragon, a somehow well known, but even more well kept secret among locals. Szentendre is such a lovely town, it's no wonder the locals watch it closely!
