Moulton Barn - Grand Teton National Park

The Moulton Barn is one of the most photographed structures in the U.S. Located on Mormon Row in the Grand Teton National Park it was built by John and Thomas Moulton. Mormon Row was an area chosen by early Mormon settlers for it’s fertile soil, access to water, and shelter from winds. Today it is part of the National Register of Historic Places and owned by the National Park Service as part of Grand Teton National Park. To get there drive North of Jackson on Hwy 191. Pass Moose junction and turn right on Antelope Flats Road. After about a mile and a half you’ll see the pink stucco house that was part of John Moulton’s ranch. There is a small parking lot and brochures. Just down the road is the Thomas Moulton Barn. Bring your camera and arrive early as crowds can gather. It was chilly in early September when I was there so bring some warm layers, hat and gloves for while you wait for sunrise.
