If money is no object and you're looking for a room in downtown Chicago, try the Trump Hotel.

The hotel occupies several floors of a 92-story residential tower that's home to local celebrities like Chicago Bulls player Derek Rose. It's located along the Chicago River in the heart of downtown within walking distance of Cloud Gate — otherwise known as The Bean, Millenium Park, the Magnificent Mile and the Merchandise Mart. It's also just across the water from the starting point of the Chicago Architecture Foundation's boat tours.

While the location is fantastic and the service fanatical, everything about the Trump is both opulent and expensive. Even with special offers, expect to pay a few hundred dollars a night for even the simplest rooms.

One way to sample the Trump for a fraction of the price is to head to its Terrace bar. From its 16th floor vantage point, the Terrace at Trump offers a unique glimpse into a city of skyscrapers and architectural gems. It's a stylish yet somewhat simple rooftop bar where the view is the star of the show. Try the freeze pops — think pina colada and daiquiri popsicles or a punchbowl if you're looking for a $160 drink to share with friends.
