Looks like Germany but...
You'd be excused for thinking that this is a picture of Germany because it does have the traditional German style houses. It actually belonged to Germany for a brief time in history. It was taken from France in 1871 and was eventually given back after WWI. Of course Hitler annexed the city in 1940 but against was returned to France in 1945. So now you know why and what types of influence the city, as well as the Alsace region, has had over the years. Regardless, its a little jewel of city and worth the trip!

Is that an error, or do my eyes deceive me?
David, it is Colmar. I didn't have an exact location when typing in Colmar but clicked central europe and for some reason it ended up in Dobrovice! why that showed up when I typed in Colmar is beyond me but I guess just another hiccup in the afar system. there is also another pic from there, the statue. I did mention Colmar there.
Fixed it! Thanks for pointing that out to me David!
Your photo looks even better now! :-)
Colmar, you probably know, is the inspiration for Bree, from the movie version of Lord of the Rings.
I did not know that!
The location cites the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar but your highlight makes no mentionof the museum or its world famous painting, the Isenheim Alterpiece by Mathais Grünewald which is reasion alone to go to Colmar.

i don't know the exact address and when posting the site gives a couple options for the location so this is the one that i settled on since the others made no sense either.
