Livraria Lello bookstore, Porto, Portugal
A blend of neo-Gothic and art nouveau, the enchanting Livraria Lello bookshop dates to 1906 and is rumored to have inspired J.K. Rowling’s Hogwarts in Harry Potter. Rua das Carmelitas 144, 351/222-002-037

I asked one of the staff why didn't they allow it and they said, "it's not a museum, it's a normal business"....but I can tell you if I were a local trying to find a book I would leave the same minute! The Lello bookshop was packed with tourists when I visited...more of a Babel tower than a "normal bookshop business". A must see though!
i'll be in porto this coming week and will definitely go there. i hate when a place tells you that you cannot take photos, which is somewhat pathetic. hell, they get free publicity that way, as they have here on afar. i'll flash my press card though and see if they'll allow me though to take some pics.
