La Falla de Michael Jackson
Every March, Valencia Spain is filled with colorful papier mache statues, like this one of Michael Jackson in his Neverland Ranch. The intricate structures are supposed to represent trends and phenomena Valencia wishes to rid from its culture. On the last day of the festival, La Crema, the fallas are set on fire in a kind of cleansing ceremony that sweeps the city.

That sounds magical. I actually didn't stay long enough to see La Crema, sigh... But I really enjoyed perusing these works of art, eating churros con chocolate, and drinking wine in the "botellones" (parties in the park).
I just came across this post. Las Fallas, I believe is the best party/celebration in the world. Go back for La Crema. I watched the Mad Hatter burn down in a small square with about 100 people, including my best friend and dad. Stepping back from the intense heat of the burning Falla was something I'll never forget.
