Thanks for mentioning simple to navigate..lol..people seem to think the DC metro is highly complicated but I find it's one of the more simple to understand metro systems I've been on!
I must add that what Metro is not lacking at all, and far exceeds any subway system in the US if not the world, is an iconic station architecture. How brilliant was it to model with the hint of a classical dome's interior, that an American symbol for democracy? That roof is now instantly recognizable and adds tremendous grace to a daily commute. I feel lucky to live in a city that took advantage of that opportunity.
