Italian Food In Paris

After three splendid "French" meals my wife had hit a wall. We canceled our degustation meal at an "oh so hard to get a seat" Parisian Michelin 2 star restaurant and headed out by foot from our hotel. My wife, skipping ahead came across Le cherche midi, a wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant that was about packed. We lucked out "due to my wife's good looks" I was lurking behind her. We sat down with three inches on either side of the next patrons to a superb, fresh and delightful dinner. I ordered mortadella with rocket and fresh homemade mozzarella a'la tartufo. (with truffles) that was fabulous. My wife a beautiful rocket(arugula) salad with parmigiana and lemon juice. For the main course my wife had a dazzling green pesto and bagotini pasta dish that was light and wonderful. I decided for the fettuccini with truffles. When they brought my dish (pictured) my eyes bulged out of my head and my mouth started watering. It was a veritable mountain of truffles. The service was great and atmosphere convivial , Delicious !!!! MW.

I love that neighborhood! And when we hit the wall, we ended up eating pho on a rainy spring night and oysters on another.
