I took an auto from Bhuj in Gujarat to a tiny town called Bhujodi 8km southeast of Bhuj. A traditional crafts village, Bhujodi is inhabited by around 1200 people of the Vankar community of weavers.

I was lucky enough to visit the home of a national award winning weaver Vankar Vishram Valji who showed me around his shop. His non descript shop is stacked with hand woven shawls in all shades and hues. What makes them special, is the tie-dye process and the famed Bhujodi mirror work.
