Central New York does not get a lot of media attention and too many travelers forget about the rest of New York State, outside of New York City. The George Eastman House International Museum of Film and Photography is a gem in a city and region of the state full of history and beauty (Finger Lakes). The museum is a National Historic Landmark, and Mr. Eastman, the founder of Eastman Kodak Company, is remembered as the father of modern photography and motion picture film. The museum, lovely gardens, and gift shop are all excellent and worth a visit, if you are in the area.
