We popped into the Whiskey Jar on a late Thursday evening, drawn in by the bluesy tunes pouring out the door. A brick wall lined with bottles faces the bar. Over thirty brands of whiskey spanning the sublime (Woodford Reserve signature...) to the ridiculous (VA corn liquor) are available along with any other traditional libation your heart desires. A lively crowd of 20-30-somethings boogied to the lovely gal belting out bluesy standard and originals, accompanied by an adept band with a wicked back beat. Tasty local-sourced bites like fried green tomatoes, cheesy grits, bourbon bread pudding are available, some late night.
