First U.S. Slave Memorial Treme

Treme is a popular HBO TV Series set in New Orleans oldest Black Neighborhood in the U.S.

Milton our Tour Guide met us at the New Orleans African American History Museum for our 2 hour guided walking tour of Treme. Milton is a New Orleans Creole and Jazz musician from the Treme neighborhood. He shares his personal experiences of growing up Creole in the community.

Some highlights of the tour:
We stopped by the home of Jazz musician Davis of the HBO TV series Treme.

During the tour we met Mr. Robinson who is 87 years old and the owner of the "Juke Joint" "The Little People" which featured New Orleans Brass Jazz Bands during the 1960's.

We also saw a slave quarters. At St. Augustine Catholic Church we visited the Unknown Slave Memorial. It is the only and first Slave Memorial in the U.S.
