Fashion: Naughty vs. Niqab

I saw an awful lot of Niqabs (full body coverings with just slits for the eyes) on the street, but I also saw a whole lotta NAUGHTY! Every other shop seemed to be a garishly lit lingerie emporium run by stern looking religious men in gallebeyas who had bruises on their foreheads from copious amounts of praying. The merchandise looked as if it was created by the costume designer of the Moulin Rouge on acid and often times the pieces were “one size fits all” which made them hilariously gigantic. I became fascinated with these places and went into almost every single one I passed, trying not to miss the chance to witness a group of women in full Niquabs haggling over the price of a neon orange thong or a bright yellow bra that looked as if it were made out of thick ribbons. I finally found a black fishnet nighty I thought would be great for lounging around the Pension Roma downtown Cairo but when I slipped it out of the package it was absolutely massive. When I brought up the excessive size to one of the men he turned to me and whispered softly:

“Trust me, madame, I am a man. If you wear this for your husband tonight.....you will never regret it.”

hmmmmm......
