The James Tymon Farmhouse Cottage in Gorteen, County Sligo was our home base while exploring Ireland for a week in December 2009. The 2-bedroom cottage and grounds along a winding creek are available for a very reasonable rate. The owner Kieran takes great pride in the historic family farm, which in addition to the main house also boasts several outbuildings (including a barn which he keeps stocked with peat for the cottage's 2 fireplaces).
