Escape Across the Bay
The city of San Francisco has so much to offer, from the restaurants to the parks to the local art, music, and food scenes. We locals are also spoiled because of the city's surroundings. Do not take it for granted. It's easy to live in San Francisco and still feel like you're constantly traveling.
One of my favorite afternoon trips is across the bay to Sausalito. It's an easy escape to a world of serenity and luxury. If you don't have access to a car (a quick hop over the Golden Gate Bridge), you can take the ferry to Sausalito, which is a great way to start your day of R&R.
This photo was taken right outside my favorite wine bar: Wellington's. Whether it's a hot summer day or chilly winter evening, this is the spot you want to be. I have made the trip for a glass of perfectly chilled rosé out on the deck or a bottle of red around boardgames and the faux fireplace with friends. The wine list is phenomenal and the staff is incredible.
On Mondays, they offer 25% off your bill. Wellington's opens at 4pm every day. If you feel like heading over to Sausalito earlier, you can go play some bocce next door at Bar Bocce - another great spot with the same view.
