Enjoying an Alpha Beer at Marmara beach near Loutro, Crete. We paddled from Loutro to this isolated taverna, accessible only boat or on the E4 trail (the 10,000 km trial that runs through Europe). After kayaking, we enjoyed refreshments and explored the Aradena Gorge, which is nestled just behind the taverna. From there, an afternoon hike in the shade of the rocky gorge walls provided peaceful exploration of a seldom-traveled path. Once back at the taverna, we enjoyed a delicious lunch served by an old friend of The Northwest Passage, including a post-lunch shot of Raki (the local wine)! Back to the beach, we cliff-jumped, did some snorkeling, and headed back to Loutro in our kayaks!
