Delicious Dining

Trips to Cape Town find me returning to a quaint little Mexican bistro called El Burro.

Fantastic food at perfect prices and superior service have me and my guests always itching for more!

Pictured above is a speciality, Prawn and Mango Tacos. My only qualm with this dish is that it's not part of the standard menu offering!

Oh wow. This looks amazing! Are those bougainvillea blooms as garnish or another type of flower? I probably won't be able to make it to Cape Town to try this for a while, any chance you have a recipe or list of ingredients?

Hey Allison,

Yeah those are Bougainvillea blooms. I have absolutely no idea what the ingredients are other than prawns and mango... and some shredded lettuce.

You HAVE to make your way to Cape Town. Let me know when you decide to go so I can join!

Keep an eye out for more pics from Cape Town soon!

While you were in Capetown, did you stay in one central area? Or did you drive and checked into hotels in different towns? How many days do you think will be enough to spend and see the major attractions in Capetown? Thank you.

Hi Ruth,

Cape Town itself is fairly small and is easily seeable over a few days. However, it's when you venture further out from the main Cape Town city bowl area that you get to experience the true beauty of the Western Cape (Province)

There's Stellenbosch and Paarl where the wine farms are. Then there's Simonstown and Fishhoek that are beautiful too. Hermanus has one of the best whale watching vantage points in the area. All are an hour or 2 away from the main city bowl, and day trips are definitely doable.. I would say that 2 weeks is enough to take in a lot of the sights in a lot of the areas.
