Every Sunday morning ( around 10 am) the locals gather with accordionist Christian Bassoul and at the bottom of rue Mouffetard ( 5eme) to sing favorite French songs and dance the morning away. A large crowd joins them and song sheets are passed. Everyone dances, including some toursits. It's ALWAYS on my Sunday To Do List when in Paris. I've been fortunate to meet several them and exchanged emails and even have taken prints of my photographs on several visits. They stop around noon and usually retire to a café close by for lunch and sometimes more dancing. A very special Paris memory for me.
