On our way to and from the Old City to our hotel, we walked through this relatively "new," but strangely antiquated upscale shopping center in Jerusalem.
The structure is quite curious because there are numbers referenced on each of the bricks. The story behind the numbers goes like this: The bricks were once part of a building - the same building, in another location. The former building's self was disassembled with numbers written on each brick so that it could be rebuilt as a fancy shopping mall in the new location with the same bricks.
How is that for some reuse and upcycling as well as a fascinating exterior building design!?
