Lions lay still for 22 hours a day. Luckily lion cubs are a different story. Driving through the Lion Park in Johannesburg we were in feet of a mama lion and her cubs playing tag, hide and seek, and king of mama lion. We circled 5 times to watch the little guys, mesmerized and laughing the whole time. Lion couples are also an exception to the lazy lion rule, engaging in intercourse every 10 minutes. We saw a lion couple playing hard to get before a little sexy business. Time stood still as we watched giraffes gracefully stride across the fields, zebras buck and prance with humor, cheetahs relax with a regal and disinterested pose, guinea hens scamper through the grasses with gossiping secrets, and wild dogs sniffing every wind with wisdom of the grassy land. Did I mention you get to pet some lion cubs? Winner.
